Split an order across parcels

Split an order that does not fit in one box across several parcels, each with its own shipping label.

Does an order not fit in one box? You can split it across several parcels while you process it. You decide which product goes into which box, and every parcel gets its own shipping label.

Splitting an order

You split an order at the moment you process it, both when processing individually and when working with pick lists.

  1. Open the order you want to process.

  2. At the delivery method, click Add parcel. A second parcel appears, along with an overview of the products.

  3. For each product, click the number of the parcel it goes into. To spread a product across several boxes, click the split button on that line and enter an amount per parcel.

  4. Process the order. You get all shipping labels in one pdf, so you can print them in a single go.

What you can set per parcel

Expand a parcel to adjust it. Usually there is nothing to do here, because everything is filled in already.

Setting

Description

Weight

Estimated from what is inside the box. You recognise an estimate by the tilde, for example ~300 g. You can overwrite the estimate with the weight you measured yourself.

Delivery method

Every parcel uses the order's delivery method by default, but you can pick a different one for an individual box.

Track and trace

You enter a code yourself when a parcel ships with manual shipping.

What ends up on the label

Is the setting "Add product SKU to shipping label" enabled for the sales channel in question? Then the shipping label of each parcel lists only the products in that box, with the right amounts. If a bundle is in a parcel, its components travel along in the same box.

After processing you can see per parcel what it contained, so you can look up later which box held which product.

Good to know

  • All parcels of an order leave at the same time. You cannot yet send part of an order now and the rest later.

  • Every product has to be assigned and no parcel may be left empty, otherwise you cannot process the order.

  • You cannot split when shipping with bol.com as the carrier. Bol issues one shipping label per order. Pick another carrier if you do want to split.

  • A pickup order without a shipping label cannot be split.
