Purchase advice (beta)
New in ShopLinkr: Purchase advice. With this beta feature you calculate per supplier which products you should buy and in what quantities. This helps you avoid stockouts, keep a better grip on your stock and order less than you need less often.
How does it work?
You start a new advice via Purchasing > Purchase advice. Then you choose one or more suppliers and indicate what the advice should take into account.
You can choose from three handy presets:
- Cover backorders: only advises products with open backorders, so customer orders can be delivered as soon as possible.
- Maintain stock levels: includes backorders and replenishes products whose available stock is below the configured threshold.
- Smart purchasing: combines backorders, stock levels, expected sales, advice period and lead time into one complete purchase advice.
Refining the advice
Per purchase advice you can use extra settings to match the advice to your stock strategy:
- Expected sales: ShopLinkr looks at the average sales per day and calculates how much stock you need for the chosen period, for example 14 days, 28 days or 3 months.
- Include lead time: the supplier's lead time is taken into account, so the advice also covers the period in which you are waiting for new stock.
- Subtract open deliveries: products that are already ordered from a supplier are subtracted from the advice, so you do not order twice.
- Minimum sales ratio: filters products by sales speed, so you can tell fast movers from slow movers more easily.
Purchase threshold and purchase target per product
On the product update page you can set a purchase threshold and a purchase target per product.
- Purchase threshold: as soon as the available stock drops below this number, the product can be included in the purchase advice.
- Purchase target: ShopLinkr advises to replenish up to this number of units.
For example: set your purchase threshold to 50 and your purchase target to 200. As soon as available stock drops to 49, ShopLinkr advises to order 151 units.
From advice to delivery
After generating you get an overview with advised quantities per supplier. Per product you see why it is in the advice, for example because of backorders, stock below the threshold or expected sales.
You can still edit, remove or add lines. After that you turn the advice into concrete deliveries in one click. They end up straight in your regular delivery overview, ready to send to the supplier.
Beta feature
Purchase advice is currently available as a beta feature. You can use it fully, but we keep improving it actively based on feedback.
