# Big update: improved stock structure

We rolled out a big update to the way ShopLinkr processes stock. You will notice little of it, but it does make your stock history clearer and more reliable.

**What stays the same?**

Nothing changes about how your stock is displayed. You keep working with:

- Available stock
- Reserved stock
- Total stock

Reserving stock for new orders also still works the way you are used to.

**What has changed?**

The change is in **when** a stock change becomes visible in the stock history.

**Previously**

- When an order came in, you saw a change in the stock history straight away.
- This also happened for orders that were still open or were changed later.

**Now**

- Stock is still reserved for a new order.
- At that moment you do not see a change in the stock history yet.
- Only when an order is actually processed does the stock change appear in the history.

As a result the stock history only shows definitive stock changes.

**One-off correction for open orders**

At the time of this update there were still open orders that already had a reservation. Because these are processed differently in the new setup, we carried out a **one-off correction** for them.

**That means:**

- Products with open orders may show an extra stock change.
- This correction was needed to line everything up with the new situation.
- Nothing was changed for products without open orders.

So if you see a one-off correction on a product, that is expected behaviour and not an error.

**Why this update?**

This change makes the stock history more logical and prevents noise from open or changed orders. It also gives us a solid base to extend stock functionality further.
